Alternatives to Plastic Utensils
Bamboo Reusable
Made from bamboo, normally organic certified. Some reusable utensils can be composted, although that might mean composted in an industrial facility not the home compost.
Bamboo Single Use
Often used at large events. These can be composted in a home compost. CAUTION - biodegradable isn't the same as compostable.
Edible
Single use made from natural materials made from flour, rice and wheat. Can also be fed to animals and often disintegrate when water is added.
Metal
Stainless steel. Long lasting.
Plant, corn starch
These are often not compostable. But can be reused and a better choice than plastic.
